Episode 18: Henry Cavill Potentially Hangs Up the Cape as Superman, The Longevity of the Predator Franchise, The Connectivity of the MCU on TV, Swamp Thing and More!
We at The Fanboy Garage deliver a super charged episode as we immediately unpack our reactions to the latest news of Henry Cavill reportedly hanging up the cape and boots as Superman. With news reports, statements, recasting rumors and strange videos, we try to make sense of everything happening with the blue boy scout and whether or not we expect to see Cavill sport the “S” again.
After tackling that bit of news, we open the show with some casting news for the DC Universe’s Swamp Thing show and quickly move onto TV shows we’re currently watching like Ozark, Better Call Saul and season-two of Iron Fist. From there, we discuss the on again/off again love we have for the broader Marvel TV shows on Netflix and whether or not there are strong threads connecting the TV and cinematic universes. That leads us through a quick and dirty dissertation on Star Wars canon across the books, comics, TV shows and movies and how maybe sometimes having EVERYTHING connected isn’t necessarily a good thing.
To close the show, we share our thoughts on the incoming reviews and reactions to Shane Black’s The Predator and where we are on the current standing of the franchise. Before we close the doors of the garage, we discuss the latest teases from Sylvester Stallone that a fifth Rambo movie is on the way and whether or not fans need another movie.
